Peer Support Internship (Entry Level) – 10-Week Program
PDX Saints Love | 20 Hours per Week | $500 Completion Bonus
PDX Saints Love is seeking motivated individuals for a Peer Support Internship designed for those with lived experience in homelessness, trauma, behavioral health, and substance use recovery. This 10-week, entry-level opportunity offers hands-on experience in peer-based support while working alongside certified Peer Support Specialists and Community Health Workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with guests through check-ins, conversations, and support
- Coordinate clothing, hygiene, and other resources for guests
- Assist with supply setup and event preparation
- Help set up and break down community outreach events
- Participate in neighborhood outreach and litter cleanup
- Serve food and maintain a clean dining area
Learning & Development:
- Shadow experienced Peer Support Specialists & Community Health Workers
- Attend free trainings on de-escalation, overdose prevention (Narcan use), food safety, and more
- Gain exposure to public health equity and harm reduction approaches
Internship Details:
- Schedule: 20 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
- Duration: 10 weeks (200 total hours)
- Completion Bonus: $500
- Requirements:
- Must have a valid ID and Social Security Card
- Minimum of 90 days clean from illicit substances
- Lived experience in homelessness, behavioral health, or substance use recovery preferred
