Our Workforce Development Program is designed for individuals who have faced housing instability, substance use, poverty, trauma, or systemic barriers to employment. Through this paid internship, participants gain hands-on training, trauma-informed mentorship, and opportunities for professional development—all while actively supporting the Day Center and outreach efforts.
The internship offers more than just job training — it represents love in action. It serves as a space where lived experiences are recognized as expertise, and healing unfolds through purpose, connection, and community care. It's an opportunity to reconnect with one's strengths, reclaim confidence, and discover the best version of oneself.
We offer two pathways to our Workforce Development Internship through Work Systems and Cultivate Initiatives. Internships last 10 to 12 weeks, totaling 200 to 300 hours. These internships include weekly learning sessions through a Popular Education Model for skills like Motivational Interviewing, Cultural Responsiveness & Intersectionality, Poverty 101, Trauma Informed Care, Mental Health First Responses, Narcan Training, and more.
